I was introduced to this little book on the Vikings while at a homeschooler teacher training in Canada, and I haven't put it down since. It has come in very handy for activities to do for our fourth grade block on Norse Myths. We've made the hnefatafl board and pieces, used the Norse runes for codes, and plan on using the instructions for a mini archaeology dig in our backyard later this year. The book has some neat line drawings, which are great inspirations for main lesson books, including some simple knots that could be used for making borders. It also has several games, brief histories of famous Vikings, and a small section on Norse gods and goddesses. Don't let the "Discovering Canada Series" tag fool you--this book is a great primer on the Norse people for readers/teachers from the U.S., too!
