Book Overview

What started out as a few Montreal drug addicts scamming welfare make-work programs back in 1994 has become a global empire of hedonism known simply as VICE. From a 16-page newspaper about punk bands and violence to stores, a clothing line, VICE Films, VICE TV, VICE Records, viceland.com, etc., VICE has become much more than a way for three guys to get laid. Highly Entertaining Trash from the Masters of It

A great coffee table book, one that you can just pick up at any page and guarantee a good read filled with laughs. The sections on the drug experiences are some of the funniest short stories I've read in a while, really entertaining and very easy to digest.

great leisure read

"the vice guide to sex and drugs and rock and roll" is more of an introduction to, well, the vices in life. Most of the information is half assed, and its dripping with sarcasm on most of the important aspects of the book. however, its an enlightening read and the "government high" and "fashion do's and dont's" are perhaps the reason this book is always open near my toilet

Beautifully irreverant.

We can all hope this wonderfully irreverant and honest collection of essays on what really goes on in modern urban culture is a foreshadowing of the death of political correctness. If you've got a sense of humor and live life with your fun-meter turned to 10, you'll really appreciate this book.

DOs and DON'Ts

People say a lot about this magazine but they never mention how hilarious it is. I never laugh out loud reading books (OK maybe Confederacy of Dunces but that was when I was 13). I laughed out loud so hard reading their fashion section's dos and don'ts that I was embarassed. The cover price is worth it just for that section - but the rest is funny too.
