The Upper Room Disciplines: A Book of Daily Devotions

I have been using this devotional for over a month now. The scripture passages are well chosen for the topic of the day. The story is written in a thought provoking manner. It is nice that there are different authors every week or so. Keeps the stories and topics fresh.

My wife and I have used the "A Book of Daily Devotions" for a number of years. It provides daily devotions based upon the Church Year. It provides a passage of scripture, a devotional thought for the day as well as a closing prayer or a question for reflection. It written by a different writer each week from various parts of the world and from a variety of denominations, although most are Methodist. We prize it as a valuable tool for placing us in the presence of God each day.

We all are on a journey with Christ. There are many avenues to take. This yearly devotional met my spiritual needs when others didn't. Just consider it. I like how it follows the liturgical year. I like spending my week pondering the scriptures before our pastor delivers a sermon on one of them.

I have been using Upper Room Disciplines for four years now, purchasing a new book every year. It is a wonderful, spiritual way to begin the day. I like the fact that it uses a different person to author each week's reflections. There is also a different theme each week. Each reflection is prefaced with a short reading from scripture. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to further their relationship with Christ.

I bought this book a month back and found it pretty good for daily reading. It has a good number of passages covered and is meant for the complete year.
