THE UNMAKING OF JUNE FARROW by Adrienne Young
I went into this blind and that ended up being a good thing. I don’t often gravitate toward stories that revolve around time travel, but I really loved this one. It has magical realism, a murder mystery and a family curse!
I don’t want go into too much detail because I’d rather not spoil the story. I will say, I felt the time travel “rules” were unique and complex. The female characters in this are so well done and heartfelt. Also, Eamon and Annie just stole my heart.
The prose was quite well written and wonderfully descriptive. Listening to this felt like I was right there with June at their flower farm. And I saw it all play out in my head like a movie.
Overall, this was a beautiful story of family, motherhood, love, sacrifice and the willingness to fight for each other. Highly recommend!
