The Ultimate Cardmaker: 180 Card Ideas and 20 Essential Techniques

Book was interesting and had some new ideas, plus many old ones. Enjoyed the directions, however wished there was more complete information about titles of stamps, where to purchase, etc. Nice addition to my card making book library.

I actually bought this at a book store after flipping through several different books (stamping, paper gifts, paper techniques for different effects, other card books). I decided to go with this one just because of the variety of techniques and ideas (using polymer clay, fabrics, beads, wire, quilling), which is good if you're still not sure which techniques you like best. The techniques shown are very basic- which is great for someone who's just starting and wants to have an idea of what they can do (and don't have a lot of fancy tools to play with) and it's better (WAY BETTER) than other beginning card books I've seen!!! There are plenty of pictures- all are great (very vivid colors, simple designs and lots to choose from). I would definitely pick this one up just to get you started and your creative juices flowing. I would however keep in mind that this is probably a book more apt for a beginner- or someone who wants to try something new. Oh, and if you're looking for a STAMPING book- this is not it. This is a well rounded "lots of different techniques" book- there's a very small section on stamping, and it isn't detailed at all. In that case, I'd recommend checking out The Rubber Stamper's Bible- which is the book I'm going to buy right after I'm done playing around with some ideas from this book.

This really is the ULTIMATE card book for stampers. I've stamped for 10 years and this is the absolute best book I've ever laid eyes on. It has incredible techniques step-by-step instructions and great color pictures. It has great ideas and lots of tips and helpful suggestions. I would buy it all over again if mine came up missing!
