I was only twenty-four years old, barely a year out of college, when I joined the Trump Organization as the vice president of real estate development and acquisitions. It was an exhilarating moment, one I'd been looking forward to most of my life-almost from the time one of the guys on my father's construction crew showed me how to work the manual levers of a bulldozer when I was about six years old. Now here I was, about to realize my long-held dreams. Be careful what you wish for, right? You just might get it. In my case, my new job came with all sorts of pressures, real and imagined. Some of these pressures were subtle and some decidedly less so. Mostly, I felt this tremendous weight, to prove to anyone who might have been paying attention that I could handle the responsibilities of such a senior position at such a young age.... My father had set things up in such a way that I was free to make my own mistakes, to succeed or fail on my own terms, to make my own way. He wasn't about to hold my hand or walk me through my first difficult paces. That's not his style-and it would not be mine. Book jacket.
Good book to inspire young people to set goals and work hard to accomplish them.
I want my daughter to be like her!!!

I cried! What sophistication and mannerism for someone her age. Not only is she carrying the honorary badge of a Wharton education, but the from birth weanng to control an empire! I was more than impressed to say the least, and feel as though Trump has really succeeding in transferring hard nosed business values and social kindness into his daughter. The traits embodied in Ivanka are very rare, and applying them in the demension of business, where women typically do worse than men, is even more uncommon. Anyone who cannot see this is not keen to the art of business, and the leadership skills necessary to develop a growing enterprise. Committment, intelligence, passion and focus are scattered throughout this book in perfect combination. The memoir of her person, offers legendary business insight to an even younger generation!

A compelling glimpse into the world of buisness from a fresh, new perspective. This book is rife with insight and anecdotal tips from Ivanka's past and present, which impart both an educational as well as entertaining story. The subject matter itself is focused and well structured, and the advice is relevant across all ages and professions. Ivanka gives a sense of what it was like to grow up with a recognizable last name, and how that was hurdle of its own nature for her in the realm of buisness. These pages reveal though, that one's pedigree doesn't necessarily carve one's path to glory. Ivanka's business prowess reads loud and clear, and shows that the woman she is today was born out of hard work and gutsy initiative -attributes we can all stand to learn from. This is an especially empowering read for women who may be up against the challenge of a male dominated industry...Ivanka clearly upsets the norm of the male/female power play, and knows how to use what could be construed as a weakness to her advantage. She reveals herself as both a mature and witty individual, with a lot of valuable advice to impart. The collection of "blackberry bulletins" are also extremely interesting, as they divulge wisdom from the (impressive!) list of contacts she seemingly managed to rope into giving advice to the rest of us! I feel inspired to take charge of my career in a way I never thought possible. I can't recommend this book enough!
