The Treehorn Trilogy

Loved this book as a boy in grammer school. Still love it today. Great book. Wonderful illustrations by Edward Gorey. Found a lot of other really great books authored or illustrated by Edward Gorey through looking for this book.

Wonderful Artwork and Literature

I loved these stories when I was younger! Both the stories and the artwork are bizarre yet intriguing -- I'm very glad to have all three of these books united in one hardback volume, along with the other Edward Gorey artwork I have come to admire. My favorite of the three stories was "Treehorn's Treasure". A boy named Treehorn places his allowance into a hole in a tree, and the leaves of the tree slowly begin transforming into dollar bills, so Treehorn must decide what to do with his newfound wealth. The book's binding/pages/printing are all of high quality. This is definitely a great item.

A book you'll want to read over and over.

Book: Treehorn Times Three Author: Florence Parry Heide In the book,"Treehorn Times Three," a boy named Treehorn stars in three short stories. In "The Shrinking of Treehorn," Treehorn discovers that he appears to be shrinking. He tells his parents and his parents don't know what to do. Then one day before school Treehorn finds a game he didn't finish. It's called," The Big Game For Kids To Grow On." He plays the game and the more he advances on the game the more he grows. He plays the game until he is full size. In "Treehorn's Treasure," Treehorn finds that on the tree in his front yard, all the leaves are turning into dollar bills. He picks them and buys lots of candy bars, soda, gum and comic books. In "Treehorn's Wish," it's Treehorn's birthday but his parents don't have a cake for him or presents. Treehorn goes outside and finds a jug. When he cleans it a genie comes out and he gets three wishes. I liked this book because I wanted to keep on reading.
