I loved reading this book! It was funny and interesting and had a surprising and hilarious plot! I can't wait to read the next book from Jane Fallon.
BookChick.com Recommends Getting Rid of Matthew

In Getting Rid of Matthew, Helen finally convinces her lover to ditch his wife, but as soon as he moves out - whoops! She doesn't want him anymore. So rather than chronicle falling in love and winning the guy, this clever novel recounts the all-too-real ways we lose interest in people - did he really leave his socks on the couch again? Has his hair always looked that bad? - and how we kick them out. But what if you happen to develop an unexpected friendship with the wife, the woman you made a cuckold of? Well, then you've got a tasty set of ingredients for a quick, smart, dramatic and unexpected read.
Witty...

I bought this book on a whim and found that I thoroughly enjoyed it. While on the surface Helen appears to be not quite likable and sympathetic, I found that I liked her quite a bit and was really rooting for her. Likewise with Sophie. I wanted things to work out for both of them. There are several laugh-out-loud moments in this book that I got a kick out of and found the writing to be quite intelligent and witty. Yes, there are a few all too convenient plot set-ups, but it works well here. I hope to read more for Ms. Fallon in the future.

I loved this book and could not put it down. Jane Fallon has shown as much talent as her partner. I just wish I had discovered her after she already had more than one published novel! I will miss getting to know the characters in this book.
This was one funny book...

I LOVED this book! It had me from the beginning. I was sad when I finished it. I know the heroine was not the most perfect person in the world, but she was real and funny and I liked her very much! Her lover was not so appealing, but he was created that way by the author. GREAT fist novel. I would recommend this book to most women, except those who are put off by a little "salty" language. If not, give it a go! You will laugh out loud!
