This book is informative and well-organized, it is great finding a Thyroid book dedicated to women's issues.

Unlike other resource books on thyroid disease, this offering gives specific information for women on the health connections regarding the female life cycles and other influencial female hormones. In addition to discussing the usual thyroid symptoms, it addresses in detail problems regarding weight and diet, depression, menopause and stress pertaining to women. It contains many suggestions to help oneself which makes this book a must for a women puzzled by her thyroid disease.

I was diagnosed with thyroid disease early 1999. Trying to deal with the daily medications is one thing, but changing my lifestyle to adjust to the disease is another hassle. A friend gave me this book to read hoping that I could educate myself further on what the doctors always seem to fail to inform you. Wow, the things one learns... such as how to eat and how much to eat, the risks involved with thyroid disorders, and how to work to overcome any future troubles. I will continue to pass it on to others who also have been diagnosed with this strange, yet more common disorder. This is The Tyroid Bible.

I have recently read this book and recommend it most highly. It is written in a way that can be read by almost everyone yet is neither condescending nor incomplete. If you are suffering from any of the many forms of thyroid diease or are related to someone who is you should take the time to read this book. It will allay your fears and nightmares and will offer clear information in it's stead. It covers the disease(s), the treatments, the doctors, and the tests fully. It has a good index, an appendix full of further reading and good starting points for a net based information search.
