The Temporal Void

I am not good at reviews but this is becoming one of the BEST! trilogys I have ever read. The charactors are genuine and impossible not to get involved with. The Science Fiction / Fantasy is incredible in scope and scale. If I have any regrets it's that I will have to wait till 2010 to the final book comes out. I can hardly wait!

this guy can write!

gonna keep this review short..but i gotta say that peter writes some of the best stories out there today period!...anyone not sure if they should buy this then take my advice and do it!..one word of caution..these books are not for kids..alot of violence and some sexuality. but for me its everything i look for in sci-fi...im gonna buy other stories from him while i wait for the third part of this series comes out too. lawrence

"Popcorn" Science Fiction at its best

Great book. As all of Hamilton's works this one certainly is not deep (and luckily it doesn't try pretending to be like some parts of the Night's Dawn Trilogy...) and I wouldn't call it literature, but it sure is gripping! Unlike some here, I actually liked his fantasy interludes with the dreams. The only thing that seemed really odd was the Third Dreamer stuff, but at this point I assume more explanation on that is to follow. It's an amazing book to simply lay back and enjoy; can't wait for the next installment! P.S. and for anyone who remembers the "silver and blue" Perry Rhodan [sp?] books in Germany: Somehow Hamilton's books always remind me of those. Oh fond memories of simple sci-fi books 8)

700 page book that seems too short

Another excellent installment of the Commonwealth universe saga. There are really two universes in this book and different physics apply in each. The universe inside the "Void" leans towards fantasy, whereas the outside Commonwealth universe leans towards hard science fiction. I do not like fantasy, however I did enjoyed the parts of the book that play inside the Void more. The reader knows that ultimately there will be an explanation for the way time and space behave inside the Void, and the fast paced story and well developed characters make it a joy to suspend disbelieve - for another 700 pages.
