Dangerous Girls 2: The Taste of Night (Creatures of the night...)

R.L. Stine's epic sequel and conclusion to Destiny's and Livvy's vampiric tale. The first Dangerous Girls story ends with Destiny learning about her sister becoming a fully-fledged vampire. Livvy changes Ross into a vampire. Dangerous Girls 2 begins with Dr. Weller (Destiny's and Livvy's father) searching for a cure but having very little luck finding one. As the Restorer and the lead vampire hunter, Dr. Weller has no choice but to kill as many vampires as possible, even if one is his very own daughter. Dr. Weller, Destiny, Ana-Li, Ari, and Mikey are the only ones who truly know what happened that night between Livvy and Ross. With graduation fast approaching for Destiny and her remaining friends, she has difficulty getting over Lizzy's selfish choice to leave the family and become a vampire. Both Destiny and Livvy soon find two teenage boys, one a vampire (Patrick) and the other a human (Harrison). How will these new blood- I mean boys affect these young ladies' lives? And what will happen when bodies turn up again – both human and vampire? R.L. Stine has astounded me again. Towards the beginning, it didn't seem like this would be as enthralling as the first because I was focused on Livvy being a brat. However, once I got past the introduction, it picked up and had me hooked on each page. The ending is bitter-sweet. I wish there could have been a third book to the series. I enjoyed gazing at the covers. I especially like the second cover where, I assume, Destiny sheds a blood tear for her sister behind her. I relished Dangerous Girls, although I enjoyed the first book a smidgen more than the second. I highly recommend Dangerous Girls Books 1 and 2 to any young adult, R.L. Stine fan or not. I can't wait to read more of his books in the future.

Very good and sad

This book is DAMN good. I hope a third one comes out. It's different. At the end my heart cried out cause it was so sad. I feel sorry for the twins. Very EXCELLENT book. One of RL Stine's best!

A suspenseful and intriguing supernatural horror novel

Two months have passed since Destiny Weller last saw her twin sister Livvy. Back then, they had both been fighting the darkness that threatened to consume the town of Dark Springs, Massachusetts. That was before Livvy decided to turn toward the darkness and become a vampire --- while taking Ross, Destiny's long-time crush, along for the ride and breaking the strong foundation of their family as well. Destiny has since tried to move on and make a new life for herself and her family. She and her friends, Ana-Li and Ari Stark, have recently graduated from high school and are preparing to head off to college. Everyone is excited about the prospect of beginning a new chapter in their lives. For Destiny, however, this is not exactly the case; she has to stay in Dark Springs to keep her family together. Her little brother Mikey has begun to hallucinate and her father, Dr. Weller, is still nowhere closer to finding a cure for vampirism. Meanwhile, Livvy is thriving in the nightlife and doesn't care to go back to what she considers to be her boring old life. Along with her new friends, Monica and Suzie, Livvy loves going out each night to party with hot guys --- the same hot guys whom they love to feed on, especially under a full moon. One night, when Monica mentions that there was a graduation ceremony at the twins' high school earlier that day, Livvy becomes defensive, but nonetheless decides to have a graduation party of her own and suggests that they go to the new club, Rip, to celebrate and feed. Destiny and Ari also decide to go to the club, where most of their friends and classmates are celebrating. They have recently begun dating, but Destiny feels awkward about Ari's changing personality due to the incident with Livvy and Ross. This is made even more apparent when Ari accuses Destiny of being too serious, and the young couple gets into an argument. Destiny becomes angry when she sees Ari dancing with a beautiful red-haired girl and leaves the club. Little does she know the twist of fate that lies ahead. Livvy is hanging out by the bar in Rip, on the prowl for a hot guy to cure the edge of hunger that she constantly feels. It seems as though this could be her lucky night when she meets a handsome college student named Patrick. The two flirt, and Livvy goes outside for a smoke while waiting for Patrick to meet up with her. Destiny sees Livvy and begs her to come back home. Livvy threatens to turn her twin sister into a vampire, but lets a frightened and confused Destiny go. Afterwards, Livvy sees Patrick and lures him into the woods surrounding the parking lot of the club. The moonlight is bright and there's excitement in the air, perfect for a vampire and her prey. Livvy realizes that she is truly attracted to Patrick and the couple passionately kisses. Hunger soon overtakes Livvy and she goes in for the kill, but to her horror, she finds out that Patrick is a vampire who wants to change things around Dark Springs. Patrick soon leaves a very

Fantastic Sequel to 'Dangerous Girls'

Seventeen-year-old Destiny Weller couldn't have been closer to her identical twin sister Livvy. But all that changed when Livvy decided to become a full-fledged vampire, and Destiny made the decision to go back to her human ways, and stop being a creature of the night. Destiny, now a recent high school graduate, and her scientist/vampire hunter/veterinarian Father, will do anything to convince Livvy that she is a cherished part of their family, and that she must come back to them, and discontinue her life of living as a princess of darkness. But Livvy likes her new lifestyle. She has many friends. Friends who also prowl once the sun goes down, who head to nightclubs with her, and prey on defenseless teenagers out to have a good time. However, Livvy also has plans of her own in mind. Plans that Destiny must join the dark side, and become a vampire once again, before the two of them can ever be reunited. Once again, R.L. Stine has created an amazing new novel, featuring his very interesting characters, Destiny and Livvy Weller from his previous novel DANGEROUS GIRLS. However, THE TASTE OF NIGHT is written in a way, much different than most books of today, as at times the story is told backwards. For instance, part one takes place in July, but part two takes place one month earlier, in June, part three takes place earlier that day, and so on, which can at time get a teensy bit confusing, but is fairly self-explanatory. As in the first book, Destiny is still following her good-girl ways, while Livvy is up to her bad girl self, and nasty tricks, once again. The ending leaves a great cliff-hanger that will have fans of both DANGEROUS GIRLS, and THE TASTE OF NIGHT, itching to discover what will happen next. Overall this is a wonderful book, and an absolute must-read for those who enjoyed the previous novel in the series, or for fans of vampire novels, in general.
