It works!

I have tried other books before. THIS is the ONLY ONE that works. I have used it for over 10 years... Nothing else compares

Very Nice

I always admire a good looking, well made book and this book is just that. Sensual and rich in color and quality. It has wonderfully photographed pictures and imagery to help the reader along in understanding the set ups. It is also well written, organized, very easy/simple to follow yet not simplistic. Its a very straightforward book once you get past the introductions which might be new or necessary for some. I don't know how well the "spells" really work but its is a great buy for a gift or for oneself. There is a reference chart for e.g...."Health" then the particular tarot arrangement that fits that category. However, many of the arrangements fit multiple categories e.g. "Health", "Business"...etc, so you might get a bit dizzy going back and forth...after you find out that one arrangement meets several needs. In which case its better to just read the descriptions...they are much more revealing in their purposes than the referernce chart and you get right to what you need to know or not. If you are the kind to get into the time, energy, and physical effort to maintain or endeavor in the subject matter or you are just curious then you have a good investment.

A beautiful and useful book!

I just got the Tarot Spellcaster and am really enjoying it. First, it is a delight to look at, packed with full-color glossy and very detailed photographs. The paper is nice and thick, and the book is well organized, with a section in the front categorizing all the spells following which is nice, you don't have to search, and it has a good index in the back. It also has some astrological tables and other helpful tools, but I cannot vouch if they are fully accurate or not as another reviewer suggested. The hardcover format is nice so you can lay down the book and follow along if you wish.As for the content, it is pleasant to read; not "dumbed down" so more experienced users will be bored, yet not to complicated for beginners. The spells are practical, varied, laid out and explained well without a lot of jargon or unecessary verbage. I've been working with the Tarot and magick for a few years and this is a welcome and useful addition to my library. I found many spells I wanted to use right away, and all of them in the book can be used for various purposes depending on your needs, i.e., a "love" spell in here could be used for attracting a soul mate, a lover, enhancing a current situation, or bring you the love or relationship you desire while not specifically naming anyone. I really liked the flexibility in the spells and the topics selected.I think the comments some other reviewrs made regarding the items that seem to be missing or not described in the layouts are simply items that were put into the photographs to enhance them, such as herbs and incense, and/or perhaps are suggestions of what you can add to or substitute for the spells (as the author says in one section, if you cannot find the oil he recommends you can use the herb or a similar scent). I tend to use herbs and incense a lot so I would naturally add those with these spells also. I think that may be what the pictures were trying to get across, or at least to me :-) But as another reviewer said, I also would not consecrate my cards with any type of oil as the author suggested, but would use incense or sunlight instead.Overall, I really enjoy this book! I think it is a worthwhile investment and a nice addition to the slim pickings out there on Tarot magick, and think you will enjoy it too.

Visually and spiritually appealing...

This is a lushly-illustrated and inspiring book for those of us who are looking for rituals to add to our spiritual lives, but who are not necessarily interested in the more obscure aspects of Tarot and Magick which are presented by some books. I am not sure if I received a mis-printed copy of this book, however, because one of the charts and a couple of the pages have astrological symbols either associated with the wrong name, or which show the wrong symbol entirely. I also noticed that a few of the photo-illustrations have missing objects (i.e., candle, paintbrush, etc.), or some object pictured which is not explained in the text. Despite these faux pas, the author provides simple but substantial instructions for many spells (which makes it very easy to fill-in-the-missing-blanks noted above). This book can help you give yourself the gift of enhanced magic in your life...

Beautiful!

This book is a very worthy follow-up to the wonderful book by Janina Renee. Terry Donaldson has created a visually stunning and thought provoking journey through the Tarot. The book differs from Ms. Renee's in the way the spells and rituals are arranged. After preliminary discussions on magic, preparation, and correspondences, the Major Arcana are presented--each card with it's own beautiful spell and photograph of the altar arangement. Each spell is described thoroughly, from intention, to materials used, to procedure, to meditations. There is also a section of spells using multiple cards. I especially appreciate the very poetic meditations which find the heart of each intention, and are oriented toward serving humanity and spiritual growth. The book is perfect for beginners, but I've read Tarot for nearly twenty years and I've gained much insight from this book. If you love "Tarot Spells" by Janina Renee like I do--you'll feel the same about "Tarot Spellcaster."
