There was a huge old house that looked a bit like a castle. It was a dark and dreary looking place and a tad scary under the light of a full moon. Inside there were a couple of mice, two brothers, Bill and Bo, hiding out in their snug little home in a baseboard. It wouldn't be easy to go out because sitting on top of an old chair with some yucky horsehair sticking out of it was a long-haired gray cat. The two brothers "had nothing to eat or drink" so they had to go out. "But -- said Billy." Bo wasn't scared and off they went to the kitchen. They opened a cupboard in there and only found some mops. Little did they know that kitty was watching them all the time! Billy and Bo went off to the dining room and looked behind a curtain. Finally they found "A feast!" There was a banquet waiting for them to dip into with everything from nuts to cheese. They loaded things into their cart and picked up some sticks in the living room. Billy was still worried about the kitty cat, who really was under the chair. Bo yelled at him, "Don't be such a BABY!" Billy was a bit scared of everything and it wasn't long before he thought there was something under a blanket. Whoa! There really was something under there and it just POPPED up out at him. "Eeeeeeeeek!" This is a wonderful book about Bo and Billy (and the kitty) that little hands are going to love to explore! The book is a lot of fun with the little cat and mouse game that we can see going on. There are many flaps and one pop-up for children to enjoy. The pop-up kitty alone was well worth the price of the book. The story was charming and the complementary artwork was perfect. I'd only have one small recommendation and that would be to get some clear packing tape to reinforce the edges of the flaps because this book is going to be read time and time again! "Eeeeeeeeek!"
