Lot of unanswered questions.

Being a retired homicide cop. And reading from that port of view.I see a lot of answered questions.like there was other people involved in helping him with a cover up,an where is the deer rifle she was shot with? Why was the young man who was out hunting in the area question more thoroughly? It's always a red flag when someone lawyer up.unless they have information or something to hide ,,,,, very suspicious.

Murder on the Upper Peninsula

Hunt to Kill is an account of the 1992 death of Judy Blake Moilanen in a "hunting accident" on Michigan's remote Upper Peninsula. Investigators quickly began to suspect that Judy's death might not be an accident because Judy's husband, Bruce, had heavily insured her and she had narrowly escaped death in several suspicious "accidents." Authors Dave and Lynn Distel bring the case to life in Hunt to Kill's 380+ pages. One of the best things about this book is its portrait of life in the Upper Peninsula ("The U.P."). Outsiders will enjoy reading about the rugged people who live in a beautiful, but harsh, setting. Hunt to Kill made me want to visit the U.P. - in the summer :) Hunt to Kill has an interesting cast of characters. Bruce Moilanen is something of a dunce; his alleged murder plot and his actions afterward are pathetic. The trial features an interesting duel between a novice prosecutor (Beth Paczesny) and a man voted the best defense attorney in the U.P. (Tom Casselman). Hunt to Kill also includes 16 pages of photos that help the reader picture the people and places mentioned in the book. There are a few drawbacks to the book. The "trial" sections drag a bit because the authors recount information that they had previously covered. I thought that the Distels should have cut the book's length by about 50 pages. Also, the authors do not provide enough about Judy Moilanen's background. Though not perfect, Hunt to Kill is an engrossing look at a crime that took place in an exotic setting.

PAGE TURNER

This book is so engrossing! it will keep your nose buried up until the last page...this is one writer who does his homework! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Just don't have plans for the day when you start it, because you won't be able to put it down!

Small town, shocking tale

Compelling read. Dave Distal tells a tale set in an idyllic community, yet tragedy displaces tranquillity. Set in the U.P. region of Michigan we get a great story about a marriage gone bad, small town police work, and a shooting designed to look like an accident. We see what can happen to average lives when insurance proceeds become more important than your spouses life.

uppolishak

Almost written off as a "hunting accident" but one Michigan State Police Detective, just doesn't buy it. He starts digging and finds a lot of chilling information on the husband. Then comes a box of sweaters with a letter in it, almost the most damning piece of evidence. Unbelievable how greed can overtake a person, enough to hurt the one closest to him. This is an excellent book. I read it in one sitting. When you start this book, make sure you have a free day because you won't be able to put it down. The author certainly did his research. Recently met the author and seemed to be a very intelligent man.

The Sweater Letter

I could not put it down once i started. It's the first time i can ever remember reading a book in one day.
