Does your church really take the bible seriously?

Provocative book -- investigates the reasons for the growing disuse of the Bible in the churches and points out ways to make the scriptures meaningful for us today. Biblical scholarship is partly to blame, says the author, in that by trying to be scientifically objective scholars have neglected the narratives and the theological content of the text. What is most urgently needed is for preachers and people together to honestly face what is in the scriptures.
