Revised and expanded with a Preface from acclaimed Country Music historian and journalist Peter Cooper, The Storyteller's Nashville is the illuminating and entertaining tale of Music City's transformative years by Tom T. Hall, considered by many greats to be the greatest storyteller and songwriter in Nashville's illustrious history.
Every celebrity projects an image whether put on or for real. Tom is not afraid to be "real" in this book. He is an honest man and for that reason some may have a hard time digesting some of what they will read. Let me say that I have been a Tom T. Hall fan since about 1995 and have since purchased a great deal of his music, whether on LP or CD, as well as 2 of his books. Upon reading this book I have to admit that I was taken back a bit. It wasn't just about the nature of the subject matter, but also his candour itself. I suppose I have perceived Tom to be a rather private individual, and I'm sure that he is, however, I found him to be refreshingly open in this writing. Some will be shocked, to be sure, but what integrity! Tom's writing itself is easy to follow, to the point, and articulate without being verbally overbearing. What a great read! If you are truly a Tom T. fan then you will most certainly appreciate the humor, intelligence and openness with which he writes. Dean.
