Specially written for younger readers, the books in this series give children an insight into popular subjects, and engage them with lively text and humorous illustrations. This description may be from another edition of this product.
"The Story of Trains" provides a factual, no-nonsense history of the locomotive, from its earliest beginnings to the present. It's a very short book, so it leaves out a great deal of information (the development of the steam engine, for example), and it is a children's book so it omits enormously important information (such as the growth of capitalism, role in colonialism, and so forth). But, for children of approximately 2nd to 4th grade the book provides lovely illustrations and fun facts. A worthy addition to school and home libraries alike.
