How can a unicorn disappear?

That snippy Branda Carlton is at it again! It's show and tell time in Nancy Drew's third grade class, and everyone is bringing in some special treasure to share with the rest of the group. The new girl in school brought in her special treasure, a beautiful unicorn! Some people seem to be jealous, and have some pretty nasty things to say. Before the school day is over, the unicorn disappears. The tons of suspects and clues are sure going to keep Nancy Drew busy, and she'd better start working fast. That snippy girl, Brenda is planning on announcing the name of who she things is guilty in her own newspaper, the Carlton News! The Stolen Unicorn is a wonderful example of Carolyn Keene's mystery novels that have enthralled young readers for generations! Recommended!

Engaging book for my dyslexic daughter

My 9 yr old struggles with dyslexia and I read to her - the classic Nancy Drew stories, Harry Potter, of course, and the Pullman stories (Golden Compass, etc) but this is the first time she brought a book to me and ASKED TO READ TO ME. The reading level is perfect for her (3rd grade) and she is intigued with the relationships of the girls as they sort things out in school to solve this junior mystery. I will be selecting other "Notebook" stories for her to enjoy.
