This book makes a rather good and well intentioned stab at explaining just what the spirit is. I was rather fearful when I first opened this that we were going to be handed typical dogma from one point of view or anther. This was not so. This is a wonderful book to enable you to open up a conversation with your child, teach him or her, and still leave room for the child to grow on their own. The book is well written, very well illustrated and treats a sensitive subject kindly. Children are always afraid of death and start asking about it at a very early age. This work helps with some answers. Recommend this one highly.
Wonderful Book!

When my 6-yr-old son started asking me about death, I had to really look for books that would help me explain, but without a religious tone. I am Buddhist, and my husband is agnostic; our goal is to raise our son to be a thoughtful, intelligent human being, and for him to choose a religion when he is old enough to make a considered choice. This book is a wonderful way to explain the human spirit -- we love it!
