Sorority from hell, what else is new?

This book picks up shortly after Eve's disappearance and Merilynn's intuition is going haywire telling her that something is wrong within the sorority; Eve didn't just vanish into thin air. But if she didn't what happened to her? As her dreams grow as an alarming rate, showing her flashes of the past as the circle's power stretches back centuries in pain, blood and twisted sexual magic, Merilynn begins to see that the coven must be stopped and it may cost her, her life.

An Even More Engrossing Sequel!

Imagine "Legally Blonde" ... only with Elle as an evil demonic witch with a craving for sex and murder! If the horror genre interests you, you'll really enjoy this sorority-meets-sex & witches tale ... I read the prequel, "Eve," in less than a few hours and finished this one before the day was over. It's very different from so many books on a lot of levels, incorporating witchcraft with mystery/horror, along with definite elements of erotica and even some guilty pleasure chick-lit. From an old-school sorority sister AND an avid reader's point of view, I found "Merilynn," just like "Eve," a totally addictive part of the trilogy and a great quick read.

Quick and engrossing!

I have heard of Tamara Thorne and her books before, but this was my first reading of her work, and I was greatly pleased. I took this book out of the library not realizing it was a part of a trilogy, and the action took place dead smack in the center of the whole story. I was seriously discourage to read it, since going back to the library I was told that they didn't have Eve ( the 1st book) not Samantha ( 3rd book) but the it seemed so interesting and I love reading magical stories from time to time that I got sucked in and read the book. Overall it's a very fast read, it can really be done in one sitting, as it's around 204 pages long. The writing is clear, concise and even for a magical horror it has some great humor thrown in. I love laughing while reading scary books, it's hard to do but Thorne pulled it off nicely. The trilogy is about Fata Morgana, a secretive and quite naughty sorority surrounded by woods that reminded me of the movie Legend (unicorns and ghouls ran amok, great movie) whit Greenbrair ghosts, puckwidgies, greenjacks and other creature that have inhabited Applehead, along with the sunken town in the lake, where the lights come on from below and ghost of dead students walk. I love the mix of magic and campus life, easy story telling that Thorne weaved like a spider in an abandoned farmhouse, and it did have a lot of sex in it, especially when Malory, the head of the Stepford like cheerleaders was involved, and she didn't spare her lovers, male or female. Death, gores and ghost, in a quick read, what can you ask more for? I also liked Merilynn, our main protagonist, whith her love of herbs and potions, she reminded me of Snape from Potter, but gentler, funnier and braver. She bonds in the book with Kendra and Samantha as we read more about the Fata Morgana and what evil plans they have. For they are only young and beautiful to the innocent, when in fact the story is crafted around an ancient evil that dips its claws in the pool of immortality which only makes them harder to beat. I have purchased the remaining books, Eve and Samantha, and plan to read them when they arrive. I can't wait to have the whole story in my head, in order or not, this is a fantastic and entertaining read. Tamara Thorne is my new writer that I'm keeping my eyes on!

Simply Sublime!!

Not only does this book offer more emotion than the first, but it colors it's characters in a way that brands them into your imagination and heart. Enter the nightmare of campus hijinx, urban legend, magick [with a 'k'], and dangerous women - living, dead, and ancient! You can see the characters, you can smell the danger, and you can sense the tension as the story takes what you knew and brings it to new levels. Not only do we find some of the same characters, but we find that their purpose is far greater than to flavor the story - it IS the story.Paced to keep you reading and twisted to make you scream at the end [because you want the next one NOW], Tamara Thorne's mark on this genre is just blooming! If you have read anything else by her and enjoyed it then you MUST find the Sorority...Five Stars all the way!!

Merilynn - Amazing!!!!!

MERILYNN picks up right where EVE left off, with questions unanswered and a mystery to be solved. Filled with more intense emotions than the first book, we are quickly whisked into the world of the Gamma Eta Pi sorority and Fata Morgana. Very haunting atomsphere, we are given more depth to the characters, the story gives you the craving for more and the pace keeps the book in your hand until it is done. Thorne's style of writing is very inviting and has you wishing the story was much longer. This gets the same rating as EVE. 5 stars all the way!! Not available in hardback at the moment but it would be well worth the money spent if it was. I am eagerly awaiting SAMANTHA due out in August.
