The Sorcery Within

I picked this one up at a used bookstore and am very glad I did. It took me about half the book to figure out the relationship between all the different characters that he referenced. It definitely captivated my interest and I finished it in one day. Now I'm going to have to go back to that store and find books 2 & 3.

I enjoyed very much this book (and the second book in the series) but I found that the near-constant references to women's breasts in this book disruptive to the flow of the story. Once or twice is fine, but c'mon!

Dave's website has announced the third book. "Upon completion of the third volume, The Wizard's Nemesis, all three books will be released in print by Wildside Press in a uniformly packaged hardcover edition. " Time to re-read the first two. I enjoyed them enough to keep checking on the third from him.

This is an excellent book which I have reread many times while waiting (in vain) for the third book in the series. The story of a brother and sister sent on a quest to save their country is juxtaposed with the love story of their parents. Both stories are exciting with great character development, evil dragons and suprising twists. Smeds wrote the second book (Schemes of Dragons) years ago and I wondered if he felt it was too big to pull together into a conclusion. Please try. Bring back the twins as central characters, I missed them!
