Dorie Still Rules!

Dorie is a breath of fresh air as the super-smart girl who uses science to figure out what makes popular people popular. The trip to D.C. in this book creates a great locale for Dorie to try out her latest experiment when she realizes that, unlike popularity, which is all about conforming to a certain group, being cool is about standing out. This book had me smiling and laughing all the way through. Igor is a brat, Tiffany makes a hilarious diva (she reminds me a little of London from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, except Tiffany has a talent other than shopping!), and Dixie is, as always, his usual fabulous self. And Dorie...well, the tween lit world needs more smart girls like Dorie hanging around the bookshelves. But what will Dorie do next?? Here's hoping for a third.

Dorie Dilts is back again, following The Social Experiments of Dorie Dilts: Dumped by Popular Demand (The Social Experiments of Dorie Dilts), for more hilarious experiments in THE SCHOOL FOR COOL. She and her BFF have been selected to go to Washington, D.C., for the summer to attend an exclusive program for Arts and Sciences. Dorie is ecstatic, for this is the perfect chance to meet her idol, scientist Jane Goodall. But with a stuck-up roommate, a condescending project leader, and the realization that she may not be the smartest kid in the program, Dorie's chances are looking pretty grim. Until she comes up with the perfect science experiment that will provide a solution for everything... Once again, Dorie will keep readers riveted to the pages of this second installment in THE SOCIAL EXPERIMENTS OF DORIE DILTS series as she weaves her intricate plots and plans. Branching out beyond science, Dorie proves that just because you are smarter than many of your peers doesn't mean you are in any way immune to the problems many teens face. Dorie is a lovable heroine that no one will want to miss. Reviewed by: The Compulsive Reader

I love this book!!

Dorie is spending the summer away from home, and suddenly all the stuff she figured out back at school doesn't matter so much. At her summer program in DC, there's a whole new social world to figure out, and a whole lot of academic competition that Dorie's never faced before. And then there's the guy she's spending two months away from--is he even her boyfriend?? Summer changes everything. This is a phenomenal, hilarious book about being away from home for the first time and figuring out who you are when you're out of context.
