Fetid tombs, harsh slavery, fatal choking . . . these images come right from the words of Jesus They are word pictures Jesus asks listeners to imagine. But why?Why did Jesus paint such vivid pictures when he talked about sin? And why did he make them so sobering--and downright gory at times? The Smell of Sin And the Fresh Air of Grace

This book was such a wake up call for me. It helped me understand how God really sees our sins. The world we live in today, has made sin seem like it's really no big deal, but that's just not the case! To our Lord it is a HUGE DEAL! It was a quick read, I read it within a 24 hour period. I would highly reccommend this book to anyone that's looking for the truth about how God views our sin.

sin is not a game

This book is a keeper. The author is so graphic on what sin smells like. He doesn't say what sin is, but we can tell it by the smell. I always thought of sin as 'what' we do, but it is 'why' we do even more. As long as sin is ok we can never be the christian that Jesus desires us to be.

Superb

A serious campus ministry leader who takes his beliefs seriously and applies a refreshingly candid wake-up call for all Christians.

Real. Fresh

A down to earth, refreshing look into Jesus' view on sin, and his response to it. Everts starts by wiping clean our skewed perception of God and sin. He then shows us the smell of sin through great in-depth study of Jesus' graphic descriptions of it. Finally, he ends with the unmatched, reviving message of hope that only Jesus offers. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a fresh new look at the Word either because of a long time away from it, or because of a heart that has lost its first love.

Sin Smells Like Roses

The Smell of Sin is a refreshing book about a subject most christians ignore today and that is sin. Don addresses what Jesus thought and taught about the subject and how radically He wanted us to deal with it. As a Reformed believer I didn't appreciate the Arminianism in the book but I still think it a timely book on a timeless subject. His graphic poetry and stories of what sin really smells like are shockingly true. This is down to earth christianity! I wish he spent a little more time on the struggle that the believer continues to have with the old man of sin till death. It's a nice book to read over a couple of times, nice and short but to the point. I will recommend it to my reading friends.
