The Slave

Once more, Laura Antoniou takes us into the world of the Marketplace where consensual slaves go through harsh training, then are sold for time limited terms to real owners. This time, she focuses on one slave-girl, Robin, and her journey through training under the hands of Chris Parker and then her life as the sole woman in her gay masters' household. In addition the novel itself, this Mystic Rose edition has a short story, "A Familiar Ring", which takes us futher along in Robin's service and gives us a glimpse back into the BDSM community as it exists today. If you liked the first book, you'll enjoy this one just as much.

The Slave by Laura Antoniou is the second book in a series of erotic fiction books on BDSM. I started the series with the second book becuase the first one is back ordered and although I ordered it, I didn't to wait on it. Having finished The Slave, I'm glad I didn't wait.This is one of the best books I've ever read, certainly the best book about BDSM I've read.Robyn, a young girl confused about her sexuality, finds her passion is to live as a full time slave, completely dominated by a master, available to her master for anything demand, sexual or non sexual. As well as providing graphic descriptons of sexual activities, the book also explores the lifestyle of a slave, and it's possible benefits and pitfalls. I recommend you read this book, whether you are into BDSM or not.

Of all the books in the Marketplace series, this has always been my favorite. Not only is it filled with erotic imagery and some really hot sex scenes, it's a great look into the psyche of Robin, who is training to become a slave, and what kind of person would really want to do this. Antoniou really keeps the story tight, and keeps the erotic tension throughout the entire novel. I was thrilled to read the added short (well, not so short!) story that gives us even more about Robin and puts her into a great three-way with two really hot, fun, lesbians. The story is wonderful, and worth the price to pick up the new edition!

Ive read a LOT of S & M fiction and other erotic books,, and I have rarely found a book I treasure as much as this one. All 3 of the Marketplace books are fantastic,, but this one is the best, probably because it really explores the psychology of submission,, and the deep desires Robin has to submit to her trainer (Chris),, one so much in control (not out of control). What is also fantastic about these books is that the story spans across all 3, leaving you wondering about certain details about the characters lives, and pushing you to read the other 2 books to try to satiate your curiosity. I am really tired of reading collections of short stories,,, this quenched my thirst for an intelligent story with character development and a plot, and it lasted more than 15 minutes! Please continue the series Ms. Adamson???!!
