The Sixth Shotgun

I don't think the suggested boycott is working looking at the sales ranking for this L'Amour book. Yes, these stories were re-written by L'Amour years later and worked into longer stories, but that should not take away from the fact that these two stories are printed here in their original form, just as millions enjoyed them when they first appeared. Many modern day directors re-release their movies in "Directors Cuts," but does that mean we should never watch the original versions of these films as they were first released? It is a ridiculous argument. Louis L'Amour thought they were good enough to publish when he first wrote them, and that means they are good enough to read today. I am so sick and tired of thread counting purist who want the rest of us to see things their way. If you dont like the story - then dont read it - Just because someone prefers L'Amours "Directors cut" of these stories - please be kind enough to let the rest of us make up our own minds. I enjoyed this book - A LOT - (and yes, I have read their re-written incarnations as well)
