Mr Hope, Hopes For Love

Jonathan Hope and Juanita, (Jamie's wife) Zapata plotted to get Libby MacPherson to his ranch in Rattlesnake,Texas so that she could teach his nephew Pedro music, because Jamie Zapata had been driving when famed concert pianist Libby hurt her hand in an accident that also claimed Jamie's ability to walk. Problem: A)There is no piano, B)Jonathan is almost as good as Libby, and C)Pedro is just as good as Libby only on the guitar, and D) Jonathan has plans of his own. When Libby arrived Jonathan took her to a Justice of the Peace and married her out of hand. I didn't know one could do that in Texas in 1970. And Libby never told her parents about her accident or her marriage. From the back of the book: '"My career is ended. I won't play again." Libby MacPherson had been a brilliant pianist until a car accident damaged her hand and put an end to her concert career. She wasn't qualified to do anything else, so the advertisement for a music teacher to instruct an exception young boy had seemed like a heaven-sent opportunity. She had applied immediately. But the job was full of surprises. Certainly living on a desert ranch, married to the boy's uncle, had been the last thing she expected!'
