really an awesome work

This volume covers 1783 to 1826. The coverage of the Lewis & Clark expedition and of Lafayette's visit and of the War of 1812 are perfect. And there is a lot of social history, which I usually do not care for, but I found this very interesting in this volume, also. This is a real 5-star work.
