The Secret

It gets off to a familiar-sounding start: a bunch of teenagers pulls some silly trick they known they're not supposed to. Then, at midnight, a faceless man finds their little group, out partying. A few days later, Pam is gone, and Tommy is the only suspect ... Perhaps the story's put together from well-worn bits, but the artwork and the telling come across as crisp and new. Alexander's artwork, in ink and watercolor, carries the dark, edgy mood of Richardson's script beautifully, down to the very last panel. If you missed the story when it came out in monthlies, you haven't missed out completely. In fact, you might like it even better when you can see the whole story, all at once - or is it the whole story? -- wiredweird
