Great travel writing, with a twist

For those who have ever been curious about what Foreign Service types have experienced in living overseas - or who enjoy the travel writings of Paul Theroux, Robert Byron or Rebecca West - I strongly recommend "The Royals and the Roaches." Written by a trailing spouse, it has nothing in common with the ponderous memoirs written by the likes of Henry Kissinger. This is about the life (or rather lives) we experience as global nomads. And most applies as much to the expat life of a businessman or missionary as it does to a diplomat.
