Historical romance world war ll

This story is about a young American girl, meeting and marrying a handsome French man, while living in New York. After a brief romance, and their very quick wedding, they move back to France. Ruby is so happy in the beginning. France is everything she imagined it to be, beautiful city, lights, restaurants and quaint little Cafe's, museums, fancy affairs with aristocrats. The only thing wrong with her marriage was that her husband has begun turning away from her, and not communicating with her, staying away from her first for long hours at a time, that eventually turning into days, and sometimes weeks. After having enough of it, Ruby confronts him about his total disregard for her, where he finally admits to her, that he is secretly involved with the French Resistance Fighters, against the Germans., That this is where his life is and he will put that before anything ! Ruby Begs him to let her work along with him, but it falls on deaf ears, and she's left alone, almost as if she didn't have a marriage. Then one day a downed British Airmen shows up at her apartment and asks for her huband, and a safe place to stay till they can get the false papers to start moving him out, and back to his Unit in London. So begins Ruby's involvement with the Resistance. There's SO much to this story, her husbands actions, his leaving her for days on end, Her becoming pregnant with her husbands baby, then losing the baby, and the husband not even showing her any sorrow, or caring how poor Ruby is totally devastated by the loss. Then Ruby learns through a friend of her husbands who also works with the Resistance, that he is captured by the Germans, and in all probability will be killed if it hasn't happened already. That throws Rubys life into turmoil. From here, The Nazi's come into her apartment building and are doing a round up of all her Jewish neighbors, in a quick decision, Her dear neighbors who helped her through her miscarriage, give Ruby their only child, their daughter, to hide, and protect. Here begins the start of Ruby's independence and her very brave and generous involvement in helping anyone that needs protection from the Germans. Of course there IS SO MUCH MORE to this wonderful story..you would not believe.!! If you have a chance to read this story, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! I absolutely loved it.!! It is so well written, NOT at all predictable! And you Definitely need a tissue for the VERY UNEXPECTED Ending !! This book deserves nothing less than 5 Stars !! Just LOVE this Author and her wonderful gifted talent for writing.

It's a good book and the ending had me on tears because I didn't expect it.

I liked this book because I love everything France and Nazi related, it's easy reading and entertaining, the main characters love story is expected so there is no big surprise there but it has unexpected twists and makes you root for them to pull through so it's quite devastating when you get to the last plot twist, I cried because it wasn't the satisfying ending I wanted but I think it made me like the book even more. If you are a sucker for romance, era or nazi novels, this one is for you.
