The 201 criminals ridicules in The Robber Who Shot Himselfin the Face might be stupid, bat at least they make the police's job easier. The thieves who stole over a dozen GPS devices from a store, which led police right to their hideout The drunk driver who managed to run over himself with his own car The drug dealer who described what he looks like to the police so theycould easily find him And, and of course, the gun-toting robber who tried to hold up a store but managed to shoot himself instead
In some ways THE ROBBER WHO SHOT HIMSELF IN THE FACE is a very comforting book. Anyone living in fear of the criminal element should be comforted by the dim bulbs whose exploits fill this book. The goofs and gaffes these smalltime hoods made run the gamut. One bank robber wrote his stick-up note on the back of a personal check. Another stole a dozen GPS devices and then decided to turn one on to see if they worked. (Surprise, it did...giving the local police a precise location to drive to). Another example: Two men were on trial for robbery, sitting there fat-DUMB-and-happy as the prosecutor asked the victim if the two men who robbed her were in the courtroom. Before she could answer, the two obligingly raised their hands! And, lastly, a California robber pointed a .38 handgun at a clerk, pulled the trigger...and nothing happened. Dumbfounded, he peered down the barrel and pulled the trigger a second time. Guess what? This time it worked! In all, Scott chronicles some 200-odd criminal nit-wits from around the world. You should sleep easier at night after reading this book. Plus it's a hoot. Recommended.
