100 years of conflict in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. A history of this conflict. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Given the lack of well-researched accounts of labor history, the Road to Dignity is welcome source of information on the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Whether you're a fellow union carpenter like myself (Local 547, San Diego!), or just a labor history buff, this is an excellent read about pre-McCarron era union politics. While the author's political slant is fairly clear, and several historical accounts seem blatantly inaccurate to the labor studies reader, this book is still a vital contribution in an area of history that many have been eager to forget.
