An associate editor of Money gives priceless advice on one of the best investments available. Thanks to mutual funds, a vast number of ordinary people have enough money to buy a home, educate their children, and provide for their future.
I recommend this book strongly to all those who are starting out as mutual fund investors. It provides a clear analysis of the issues and tradeoffs involved in mutual fund investing and explains all the relevant concepts and terminology. It also teaches a fundamental tenet of investing - "set a limit on your greed"!!
Great book to make the jump from just saving to investing.

This book assumes a basic knowledge of mutual funds but goes into the nuances you need to really ferret out the winning funds and also helps you put together a great portfolio based on your timeframes. I would have given it a 10 but it was hard to use as a reference after reading it through since the important information was sprinkled throughout the chapters and appendices. It was long enough to have the pertinent information you need but short enough to be able to read through it in a few evenings.
