Barclay, one of the foremost Biblical and New Testament professors from the 20th century, wrote this series of commentaries to appeal to the 101 student, preachers and lay bible study leaders. It is NOT meant for seminary or in-depth study. His writing style is easy, informative and he actually uses a lot of Greek text to form his commentary. But you don't need Greek to use his work. Volumes 1 and 2 of this series are the best commentaries a lay reader of Revelation can obtain and read. Barclay's work is solid, scholarly, practical, readable, and reliable
