Loved it!!

What can a say . . . I absolutely loved THE RESTITUTION! I waited anxiously for its release and was not disappointed. The third in the Legacy of the King's Pirates series, by M.L. Tyndall has it all. From captivating characters to a wonderful storyline that unfolded with incredible surprises, THE RESTITUTION was exhilarating. I could not put it down! THE RESTITUTION unfolds as Lady Isabel Ashton finds out her illegitimate son, the result of the treacherous act of a rogue pirate, is kidnapped. She is horrified and desperate to find her son. But when Captain Kent Carlton, the pirate that ravished her offers his help she is perplexed in what she should do. She will do anything to get back her son, but can she subject herself to the terror she feels just being in his presence? Captain Kent Carlton is anything but the treacherous pirate that once forced himself upon Lady Ashton. When he finds out her son . . . his son has been kidnapped by his enemy as a form of retribution, he offers his help, his ship, and anything else Lady Ashton wants, hoping he can show her that he's changed. The rest is a wonderfully woven together story of fear, hurt, hate, love, and forgiveness.

Another for the can't put down list from Mary Lu Tyndall

I cannot believe Mary Lu got me to like Kent! I never thought that would be possible. Lady Isabel Ashton is the main character in this one. You hear Merrick and Charlisse mentioned one time in the first few chapters of the book. But all that is said is they are living in North Carolina now. I was really upset at them not returning. I thought early on - I was not going to enjoy it as much for in the last book I was not fond of Isabel and Kent as characters. So at first I started the book with a chip on my shoulder. But as soon as she got the story going I was hooked. Once again, Mary Lu wrote a book that I could not put down. This book had two situations unfolding. The story of Kent and Isabel and one of Hann seeking revenge for his/her brother. What a suprise twist on that character. If you read the first two, this is one you have to read. And it will not let you down. The only thing that bothered me about these books were the cover art. All three girls looked different on the front. So if we assume the first book had Charlisse on it, and this last one Lady Isabel, which one was on the second cover? It did not resemble either of the others. And the guy on the second also did not fit with the other books. But that was about all I did not like about these three books.

Another exciting pirate adventure

In The Restitution, MaryLu Tyndall not only continued her thought provoking and action packed series set in the pirate-filled waters of the Caribbean, but she takes it to the next level. Her character development is strong and you'll find yourself cheering for characters you never thought you'd even tolerate, hurting with characters you've grown to love, and celebrating their victories in the battles of the high seas and the heart. As in the previous books of this series Tyndall weaves the spiritual thread easily through the action packed scenes. This time she tackles the questions of "Can God redeem the most ruthless people?"; "What is most important-what is visible, or what is in the heart?" and "How can you trust God in the midst of incredibly challenging circumstances?" If you enjoyed the first two books in this series, you won't be disappointed is this exciting pirate adventure.

terrific inspirational historical romance

Notorious pirate Kent Carlton seduced and ruined Isabel Ashton. Without a second look back to see how she was doing, he left her unaware she is pregnant. Her parents treated her like a pariah and totally ignored their grandson Frederick as if he was the devil instead of an innocent child. In 1669 when Frederick is kidnapped, Isabel, in Port Royal, Jamaica, has no choice except turn to Kent, a man she loathes. Whereas she also turns to God praying for her son's safe return, Kent scoffs at her as he prefers mortal intervention rather than unreliable miracles to save their offspring. Meanwhile Isabel realizes that her hatred of Kent is a means of coping as she loves him and prays for his soul. The third Legacy of the King's Pirates (see RELIANCE and REDEMPTION) will grab reader's attention from the moment that Frederick is abducted and not let go until the climax. The story line is fast-paced yet contains incredible levels of detail so much so fans will feel they are in seventeenth century Port Royal. Throughout the exciting tale, M.L. Tyndale showcases without preaching or intruding how much Isabel believes in the Lord even as she feels her faith is being tested; she compares quite fascinatingly to her beloved cynical pirate who believes in the sword not the word. Fans will enjoy this terrific inspirational historical romance while also wondering just like Kent does how strong the heroine's faith is if they fail to rescue Frederick. Harriet Klausner

Aye, ye got to love those pirates....

This story centers around Lady Isabel Ashton and Captain Kent Carlton, both whom you met in The Reliance. Isabel has been shunned by her family because of her illegitimate son, Frederick. Kent has searched everywhere for Lady Ashton (the woman he could not forget). Finally he runs in to Richard Sawkins, a nobleman who tells him of Frederick existance. Frederick is then kidnapped and Isabel is beside herself. Kent shows up and vows to help her find her/their son. She is apprehensive about him helping but agrees feeling she has no other choice. Once aboard his ship she finds that he has made a big effort to see to her needs. Kent treats her with the upmost respect and kindness. Through the story you see both hearts changing. Can Isabel ever trust the pirate who ravished her and caused her to loose her title and wealth? Will Kent be willing to give up everything for Isabel and Frederick? The story is a page-turner and will keep you up long into the night to find out what happens next. In the Reliance you saw a little change in Captain Carlton but... in the Restitution you see a change in Kent that makes him a worthy hero. I fell in love with him. You can feel the love he has for Lady Ashton and their son. One thing I was hoping for was to see Merrick and Charlisse again but they were only mentioned in the beginning. You could read this as a stand alone book but I would highly recommend you read the other two first for the complete story. The Redemption, The Reliance and The Restitution. Great work MaryLu. I look forward to her next book The Falcon and the Sparrow due out Summer of 2008.
