Book Overview

Plain Jane Megan Schumacher was the most dependable person on Danbury Way, the sleek suburban cul-de-sac where she lived over her sister's garage. Certainly not the kind of girl who would rock anyone's boat -- until she fell for the (barely) ex-husband of her best friend and neighbor Greg Banning planned to hire Megan to redo his marketing plan, but he counted the minutes until each of their meetings. As their romance heated up, Greg realized she...

The Reluctant Cinderella

I been looking forward to reading this book and this series of Talk of the Neighbourhood. And I enjoy the story the characters are telling me too.

Can Megan's Crush return her feelings?

What a wonderful first book in the SSE series Talk of the Neighborhood. What great characters we meet. This first book's heroine Megan Schumacher lives in the garage apartment behind her sister's house and is a good friend and neighbor to all on Danbury Way in Rosewood, NY. Rosewood is just an 1½ hr train ride from New York City. The perfect neighbor Carly Anderson corners Megan at a block party with her tears and unhappiness-She wants her ex-husband back. She uses Megan's graphic business as an excuse to call him to get Megan an appointment as a thank you for listening to her. Megan's not too sure of this as she had a little crush on Greg Banning when he was in the neighborhood. Carly's ex-husband Greg Banning, President & CEO of Banning's a nationally known upscale dept store, does make an appointment to see Megan so as not to embarrass Carly he doesn't want to hurt anymore then he has already. He forgets about the appointment though as well as not even remembering Megan from when he lived in the neighborhood but Megan wows him with her ideas for graphic designs as well as herself. Greg falls for Megan right away but Megan tries to keep the personal relationship at a distant, she's thinking of the crush and feeling some guilt. The attraction is there and Greg pushes Megan into a relationship. Megan's company gets the contract after the presentation to the Board of Directors so there is that excuse to use too. They are seen together but some nosey neighbors and the gossip begins and now there are even hard feelings. Was Megan the reason Greg left Carly? Even Greg's mother gets into the act and Megan has a family crisis with Greg being the hero in it. I enjoyed the story, love Megan and Greg and am looking forward to the rest Talk of the Neighborhood by so many different authors. Ms Rimmer has hooked me!
