Now back in print, one of the most sought-after books on Pirates of the High Seas. No library should be without it! This description may be from another edition of this product.
As the title states, this is the best book on the history of pirates that I've ever read, and I've read quite a few. Verrill infused this work with his passion and love of the sea. Comparing this to one of the most popular books on piracy, "Under the Black Flag" by David Cordingly, I must say Cordingly's book doesn't hold a candle to Verrill's. I'm really not very good at putting things down, but I'm even worse at praising them, no matter how duly it is deserved. I urge you therefore not to merely take my word for it, but to read the text itself. "The Real Story of the Pirate" reads easily and smoothly and it's almost impossible to not get caught up in Verrill's descriptions.
