Petey the puppy has one wish for Christmas: to have a boy of his very own. But boys are in short supply this year, and he can't seem to find one who is just right This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book puts a spin on the whole "child wanting a puppy" storyline we're all used to hearing. In this book it's a puppy who wants a boy of his very own. His mother tells him she cannot get him a boy so he goes out in search of one all on his own. This was my favorite book as a child and I purchased it recently for a new baby coming into our family. Reading it again as an adult, I still love it.

This was one of my favorite books when I was little, it's so cute it's almost disgusting (it's not, though!). The illustrations are very well done, as well as the whole idea of the story itself. A great children's book for the holidays, or any other day for that matter.
Very touching, very appropriate for holidays.

I have received the book in the mail and haven't read it to my kids yet, but I read it myself. I just could not help myself and before I knew it, I was crying. It is a very nice, touching book that teaches about companionship and love. I would highly recommend it, I can't wait to read it to my kids!
Great book--Great bargain

This is a truly touching, endearing, and enjoyable children's book about a lonely puppy who wants a boy of his own. It is very well illustrated. My students enjoyed the twist on the the usual 'boy wants a puppy' plot. Wonderful, happy ending. I used this story as a springboard for story writing in my classroom. The book inspired my second graders to create stories such as The Kitten Who Wanted a Girl, The Kangaroo Who Wanted a Boy, The Koala Who Wanted a Girl, etc. This is a wonderful book for children to read independently (ages 7-10) or as a read-aloud (ages 2-10). This would be a great addition to a child's personal library. An additional perk is the bargain price!
The Puppy Who Wanted a Boy was delightful.

Petey was a wonderer that wanted a boy for Christmas. The ending was hilarious! Instead of finding one boy, he found fifty five kids who wanted him. Children who love dogs should buy and read this book.
My Daughter Loves it

My Daughter reads this often in school and has asked and asked for it for home. It is a wonderful story.
