The Second Edition of this volume is the result of an extensive review process by the Joint Committee of the original Standards for Evaluations of Educational Programs, Projects, and Materials published in 1981. The 30 standards are divided into four groups corresponding to the attributes of fair programme evaluation - utility; feasibility; propriety; and accuracy. In this new edition original standards have been combined and others added, with new case illustrations featuring applications of the standards to reform efforts in a diverse range of settings including schools, universities, law, medicine, nursing, business and social service agencies. Taken as a set, the Standards provide a working philosophy for evaluators.
This book was on the required list for a doctoral course. I loved the easy reading style of the text, not as dry as many of my other books. The authors clearly explained the JCSEE standards and made my project for that course easy.
All the evaluation standards in a nutshell
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
This was a required text for a graduate course I was taking, and it will make an good addition to my professional library. The authors have compiled a concise review of each evaluation standard with the rationale behind each standard into one tool. It is not an in-depth analysis of evaluation standards or the history of the development of the standards. This book's strength is in its layout and brevity; I can find exactly what I am looking for when I need it.
