Those of us who study East St. Louis, Illinois, and urban programs appreciate having this strong case study of the Model Cities Program as it was implemented in the notoriously corrupt city of East St. Louis.Though hard to find, it is worthwhile. Judd and Mendelson make an important statement here about urban planning and the role that politics sometimes can play.This was the first book by Dr. Judd, who has written a string of outstanding titles, and I thoroughly recommend Judd's titles for the aspiring urban scholar.
