Guaranteed chuckles!

I first discovered The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks series when my boys were still young enough to be read to aloud. They howled with laughter. As they got old enough to read chapter books to themselves, they both devoured the entire series. This series ought to be on every elementary school library's shelf as it is a good series for engaging reluctant readers. Struggling middle school readers would like the series too.

The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks

The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks is a great book! It's about two kids that get seeds in the mail. They plant them, and a couple weeks later, they turn into mutant plants that eat socks. If you like the first one there are other ones. This book will put you in suspense and it will make you laugh.

The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks

I think it's a very funny book. And it's also a very imaginativebook. I recommend this book to people at the age of eight toten.

Students love it!

Every year, I start the school year off by reading this book to my third grade students. It is their favorite book of all time. Michael and Norman keep the students reading all of the series and looking forward to more of the antics of Fluffy and Stanley. In this first of the series, Fluffy and Stanley grow from seeds to gigantic plants, eating the family out of house and home.

Fantastic, 1000 laughs, great narration voices,

Why don't more of the "Plant Books" get put on audio tape? This is the funniest book I have ever heard. I havc recommended it to every person I know that can't read and enjoy laughing. Fantastic imaginationary situations hand in hand with true to life circumstances. I have known a "Michael" and "Norman"; the antics and personality of these kids really works. Socks are such a basic item that they're easy to take for granted...and leave on the floor, shove under beds, or lose to the dryer monster. (It happens to the best of us.) But socks actually deserve mad props for keeping our wiggly and sometimes stinky feet dry, warm, and free from blisters, so in honor of National Sock Day, here's a little history of how they became a thing and some "rules" to follow. (And yes, no socks with sandals is one of them, but that wasn’t always the case...)
