Here's a perfect way to get one's youngsters involved in The international Year of Astronomy 2009 / http://www.astronomy2009.org/. Moon phases can sometimes be tricky business for new learners. Phases of the Moon by Gillia M. Olson is a beautiful, but simple science "concept" book for young readers, ages four to eight; however, it can be enjoyed by anyone because of the well-selected graphics. Through brilliant pictures and carefully crafted vocabulary with appropriate repetition, children can discover one of nature's most intriguing patterns: moon phases. This little picture-text book introduces some more advanced reading features such as a Table of Contents, section headings, Glossary, Index, and other supplemental information like "Read More" and "Internet Sites." For our own purposes, the illustrations / images, especially on page 7 and 17, were worth the price of the book. Other products that are worth getting as educational supplements to this book are the following: Uncle Milton's Moon in My Room Phases of the Moon Read a Mat Placemat - Glows in the Dark!
