The Phantom Carousel, and Other Ghostly Tales

More ghostly tales from Ruth Ainsworth---her similar collection "The Phantom Cyclist" is remembered fondly by many. (I can only assume that since "Phantom Cyclist" got wide distribution in the 1970's as a Scholastic paperback, it is more widely known than this present volume. I think the two books are very nearly of equal quality, in terms of content.) At any rate, this is an enjoyable collection of spooky stories for younger readers, nicely illustrated by Shirley Hughes. I highly recommend both Ainsworth books.
