A valuable resource for understanding child behavior

I used this book when I was conducting groups for parents with hard-to-manage young children. It is so much more useful than those "cookbook" approaches to changing children's behavior, because it is based on understanding *why* a particular behavior is occurring, and figuring out how to fulfill that function in a more appropriate and acceptable way. It's too bad this book is so hard to find now, I've recommended it many many times over.
