Book Overview

It's the year 2043 and post World War III Old San Francisco is a seedy, radioactive dive, but P.I. Tex Murphy calls it home. The women in Tex's life are either washed up or shipping out, and this private dick is singing the lonesome gumshoe blues. Jack Daniels seems more like family everyday. Pandora leaves you wanting more!

Wow! That is about all that I can say. It's too bad that Access decided to kill off the video game version of Tex. But, if Conners books (and he's promised three more) are as good as this one is, perhaps Tex fans can find their fix in a good Tex Murphy mysteries novel. Conners: Hurry up and write those novels! That cliffhanger in Overseer is driving us nuts!!!

Who is Tex Murphy, you ask?

Tex Murphy, the San Francisco P.I. born a hundred years too late from the game Under a Killing Moon has his sequel in the game The Pandora Directive. Both games are excellent, and the book is even better. Conners did a fantastic job on the book and should please mystery fans, sci-fi fans, and Private Eye fans. This book has something for everything, grab it before it's gone. Wait, it already is, well, good luck on finding a copy. (I found one, you can too)

A pleasant surprise

When the novelized version of Pandora Directive arrived at my house, I couldn't help but feel nervous that it would be very poor. I read it in 2 days. It was awesome. It was exciting, detailed, funny, and better then the game[which is excellent, by the way] in many ways. I reccomend it to anyone who liked the game and for anyone who wants to read a good PI story

It was great and much more Tex!

I played the computer game Pandora Directive, heard that a movie was in the making in addition to having played the prequel game in the series, Under A Killing Moon. I knew I had to read the book when I heard that it was out. I got to read about things not in the game, and believe me, it was worth it. It fleshed out the game moreso in my mind, and even made me wish the game had had some of the stuff left out! If I hadn't played the game (or seen a movie of the same title) I believe I would have come away with a strong desire to see one (if one existed) It gave me a great sense of place and character developement with an exciting adventure thrown in. Having never read Aaron Conners before, (but having seen him as an actor in the 3rd Tex Murphy and knowing that he helped in the design of the games) I got interested in reading his work. I respect him in both genres now. Thank you, Mr. Conners!

Outstanding Book! Aaron Conners did a great job on this one

I found this book highly interesting and intoxicating. Told in extermly detailed first- person, Tex Murphy's latest adventure is surely not a book to miss for anyone who enjoys sci-fi mysteryies!!!
