Great Historical Fiction about an American Saint

This book takes the reader on a spiritual journey alongside three orphaned immigrant girls in 1890 New York City. Fortunately for the little girls they are found by Mother Cabrini. The future saint takes them into her orphanage where they are provided with love, food, and an education. The story is filled with moral lessons, but is still fun to read. My children (11, 9, 7, and 5) all loved this book. The author does a good job researching her subject matter and includes a section at the end of the book with factual information and actual photographs of the orphanage and Mother Cabrini.
