This book exceeded my expectations; it’s truly a gem! Historic fiction about an artistic little girl living in poverty who, according to the book blurb, “finds out that one must stay true to oneself to successfully navigate life’s joys and sorrows.” I would recommend this for every child, but especially ages 6-10.
