excellent cookbook/recipes

I confess...I am not a true vegetarian...but I need to avoid dairy/meat/wheat and was desperate! This book has been a life saver! The mayo is fantastic...my son who is a real mayo fan, really likes it! The NotTuna salad that uses garbanzo beans, was very tasty. The Crock Cheez is great, and I served it at a family picnic. It disappeared, and none of them were aware it was made with tofu! (well, I did tell them after they tasted it!) I've tried several recipes for the sauces, and most have been very good (a few 'not-so', but that is just like any other cookbook/recipe collection). I also have the Uncheez Cookbook (by the same author) and the 30 day Miracle Diabetes books too (which are excellent). I have found that the addition of the yeast to other recipes has made a positive difference in the flavor. I think the Nutritional Yeast product is very versatile, and I'm very glad I read these reviews and tried this book.

Some Great Recipes

I have not tried alot of these yet, but reading through it they are just so creative. I did try the eggless omelet and it didn't turn out so good, but I also tried the grilled cheese and it was out of this world. The grilled cheese alone makes this worthy of 5 stars, i plan on using the velvety cheese sauce in my next casserole I can't wait to try it. Being vegan is so much fun.

Great recipes!

I like the cookbook more than the Unchese Cookbook because it has more variety in how to use the yeast flakes. I LOVE the macaroni and cheese! I make something from this cookbook at least once a week and haven't tried anything that I didn't like. Great way for vegans to get B vitamins.

Lots of creative recipes

I love the taste of nutritional yeast so I was excited to get this cookbook. Its written by Red Star, the makers of one brand one nutritional yeast, so be prepared to see their name plastered throughout the book. The recipes in here are vegan - even in recipes like the mushroom soup where tofu sour cream is used. Its really good too. There are recipes for sauces (including cheez sauces), aioli, "pate", pesto, soups, salads, sandwiches, and pasta dishes. The popcorn recipe with the yeast flakes is a real hit in our house too. Excellent book to help get a lot more use out of the yeast flakes.

Delicious and healthy

This book is a must for all vegetarian kitchens. It has a huge variety of tasty recipes. She has sections on breakfast, breads and crackers, spreads and 'butters', dips & sauces & gravy, soups, snadwhiches, entrées, and desserts. Some of my favorite recipes include: phenomenol french toast, crock cheeze, golden yam soup, messy mikes, pasta with sweet onion and pine nuts, and the quick herb and onion focaccia.
