Two children who sympathize with a scarecrow that stands day after day in its field have an opportunity to regret their interest. This description may be from another edition of this product.
When my kids were little, they loved this story. I must have read it 50 times. It has an ambiguous ending which is what so intrigued them. Plus, we lived in the "country" at the time and the notion of a scarecrow strolling about was probably more real to them and pretty darn scary to boot. I highly recommend it.

I was a little girl when I read this book. Now I am grown and I have always wondered where to get this book. I even remembered the name of it after all these years.
