Funny and clever

You will laugh out loud! I promise! It is written from a mans POV, but it still seriously cracked me up. You will find many things in here that you do yourself. We must ALL be neurotic! So get the handbook! It is 150 pages with illustrations. Buy it, [take] it, borrow it from the library if you have to, but get hold of it! Well? What are you waiting for?

One of the funniest books ever.

I lost my copy of this book a few years ago and I still pine for it. I would open the book for the hundredth time and still find myself in hysterics. The author is now a magazine editor and I wish he would go back to writing.

Are you neurotic? Do you know anyone who is?

About 15 years ago, I got three copies of this book for my birthday. Were my friends telling me something? Maybe--but they were right! I wish the book was still around for me to give as gifts. It's funny enough so I still think of parts of it from time to time (touching the bottom of the lake with your feet, for instance). Hasn't the author written anything since 1984?

Universal humor, intelligent and funny; should be reissued.

This is a classic and now forgotten humor book whose humor becomes more and more appropriate as the years go by. It cover the neurotic's entire inner world, including health concerns, romance, appearance, growth, travel, weather and the thousands of other things that arise suddenly to ruin a day, a week or even a life. The humor is gentle and intelligent and, especially with Monagan's companion book "The Reluctant Naturalist," it'd make a great reissue by some savvy publisher. I mean, talk about a great gift! By all means, read it if you can find it.
